Btw, sorry I haven't written anything in a few days, just haven't had much to say, lol.
Today I've been working on both of my projects that are due tomorrow. For my Observational Drawing class, we had to pick an artist and use their work for inspiration. I picked Andy Warhol because his seemed easiest to me. I don't know if you've ever seen his Banana painting, but I picked that one. Since I picked a banana, I couldn't copy it, so I picked a different fruit. I picked an apple. And I drew it four times like he does with some of his work and now I'm painting each square different colors, but I'm trying to do only complementary colors-- diagonally.
I think it looks pretty good, really interesting to me because it's totally different colors than an apple would be. But that is how Andy Warhol would have done it, well something similar anyways :)
Then for my Perspective Drawing class, we're doing reflections and we could pick which ever perspective point we wanted to. I picked one point because that seemed to look the best for me. My group picked Tim Burton's movies, so we have to draw a theme in one of his movies. I picked The Nightmare Before Christmas and I drew the mountain thing with a gate, some trees, a scarecrow, and a pumpkin patch on the right side of the mountain, instead of the left like in the picture I used. I did it that way because, I'm making the left side a lake, so I can have all the stuff reflecting in the water, hince REFLECTION. I think it's gonna look pretty good, but the reflection of the mountain is kind of hard, so that's taking some time. I'm also having to do the powerpoint this time, which is only fair. And that's been kind of fun, finding pictures and such to put in it. I'm also trying to make it as short as I can, because the presentations aren't supposed to be that long and I also don't want it to be boring. I will post pictures either by tonight or tomorrow.
Another good thing is Thanksgiving is this week. I'm really excited because I'm going back to Louisiana to see my family. I'm also happy because we only have to go to classes for tomorrow and Tuesday. Also, my birthday is a week from this Tuesday, so I'm pretty excited about that. I will also probably have some work to put up when I come back from Louisiana. I'm sure I will have a lot of free time there to do some paintings and drawings, but some of them I may not put up just yet. They might be gifts to certain people who read this. ;) Have a great Thanksgiving everyone and eat lots of turkey and stuffing!!

I can totally picture the apple one. Can't wait to actually see it, as it sounds fabulous! I can imagine that reflections are hard, but what makes the mountain harder than any of the other pieces?
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thanksgiving!
What makes the mountain harder, is that the end of the mountain is curvy. So it will be kind of hard to do a reflection of it, but I'll ask my teacher tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the apple one! Very cool! Nice color choices, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it too! :)
ReplyDeleteNice work! You are insightful of color changes and using different colors for the apple is good idea! Keep up the good work!
